bouncy skirt

This was so EASY!  And I love it.
Here's Megan's new skirt and bow.

Megan was picking the flowers.  She loves to do that.

There's is a great tutorial over at Dana Made It on how to make this skirt and some cute variations.

a lesson

This week I actually had the privilege of teaching a friend the little bit I know about photography.  Really, the lesson lasted about 10 minutes (or less)!  But the fellowship we shared was sweet and the conversation was so good for the rest of the time we shared.  This is my favorite photo that I took during that lesson.

tohoku tote

I'm still amazed at what one can find for free on the internet.  Like the directions to make this purse.  Believe it or not, it wasn't hard and it has interfacing, and interior pocket and a magnetic snap closure.  I do think I will be making more of these.  I just need more time.
Here's my new purse.
This floral print is also covering a chair seat and a bench seat in my house...bargain Wal-Mart find from back in the day when they still sold fabric.

The tutorial on how to make one for yourself is over HERE at I am Momma - Hear Me Roar.  I love the inverted pleat, but I didn't have enough fabric to make it that way.  I used fabric I already had.  I think her fabrics are fabulous!!

watercolors

Watercolors can be so entertaining.
They're beautiful, you get to play with a brush, and water!
I just had to make sure Megan didn't drink the water.

Did you notice all of our dead grass?  Don't ya know we're having a drought?

See our lady hummer?

bias tape purse

I am enjoying pinterest so much.  It's basically a virtual cork board/idea board.  I can pin anything I see on the internet to it and come back to it later.  I'm amazed at all the goodies I've been finding out there.  Recently I discovered a tutorial for an easy bias tape purse.  I just happened to have everything to make one for me and Megan.  On Saturday, I cleared out my afternoon to make them.

This one is Mine.
I made my straps a little longer.  I also added a bit of Velcro to keep it closed.

This one is Megan's.
We took our new purses to church on Sunday.

If you want to make one, the very easy to follow tutorial is over HERE.

children's museum

We went to the Children's Museum last week.  We waited until the school year had started to go and I'm so glad we did.  It was a great day.  We even learned about ooblecks.

Do you know what an OOBLECK is?
