more angry (and happy) birds

We've been noticing humming birds at our feeder after a very long absence.  In fact, we saw just a few in the spring and then nothing, thus, our feeder's sad state.  So today, after many days of guilt, I finally took it down and cleaned it out (yuck) and put some new nectar in it.  I received a fabulous reward for this.  It was a feeding frenzy at the feeder this evening.  The hummingbirds were fighting over it and, boy, they do put on a show!  I saw six at one time.  I don't think I have ever seen that many at once.  They were so involved in their fight that they didn't notice me too much when I snuck out to take pictures of them.

rain

Oh, it rained and rained today.  It was something I just couldn't resist.  We sat and played on the patio and watched the rain and lightning.  We listened to the thunder.  We got wet from the wet wind.  They played together.  Playing the way I love to see them play -- altogether and all on the same team.  They fought the zombies, who apparently, don't do so well in the rain.  Nobody got hurt and nobody's feelings got hurt.  Nobody cried.  It was so refreshing.

Job 37:5-7

5 God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways;
he does great things beyond our understanding.
6 He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’
and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’
7 So that everyone he has made may know his work,
he stops all people from their labor.

my purpose

I love how God answers me so quickly when I pray to Him.  He answers me, not always with THE answer, but with a lesson on who He is.  And that lesson is answer enough.  Like this.  Today our pastor mentioned these verses and they hit me and stuck.  God will fulfill His purpose for me.  I love this.  I needed to hear this and know this today.  It's up to Him.  Of course, I have to follow that purpose, but I don't have to figure all that out.  He can.  He has and He will do it.

Psalm 138:8
The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me;
 your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever.
Do not forsake the work of your hands.

Psalm 57:2
I cry out to God Most High,
to God who fulfills his purpose for me.

back to school bash

Heritage Park Baptist Church Back to School Bash
We gave away school supplies and had hot dogs, lemonade, and moon bounces in the park by the church.  Very memorable night.

three sweeties

Forgot to wipe her mouth after eating the Chex mix.

The children had fun making movies yesterday on the Canon Poweshot and the Vado.
